Q. What is Hanaki, and where did you come up with the name?

A. Hanaki is myself and my partner, Aki. We chose the name because it is a combination of our names (Hana and Aki).

A. I draw everything and write most of the story. Aki does everything else. What else is there? She helps me when i can't think of stuff as far as the story goes. She also designs a majority of the female characters.

Q. Why is there no shounen-ai/BL in Night Shot?

A. Unfortunately, there is no Shounen-ai in Night Shot because my partner and i discussed it, and we decided to not involve much romance in Night Shot at all. The only characters that appear to be in love are Sakuban and Kyou. However, that doesn't stop you from using your imagination ^.^

SERIES FAQ *May Be Spoilers*


Chapter One-

Q. In chapter one, Kyou tells Yoru that she doesn’t know why the mysterious people are after him, was she lying?

A. No, on Page 131 Sakuban has just told her “everything” meaning that before she really didn’t know anything about weapons. She didn’t know Sakuban, Yoru or the “mysterious pair” were weapons.

Chapter Two-

Q. Was Sakuban really lying about Yamada-sensei knowing where Yoru was? (Pg 26 & 33) Later it explains that Yamada-sensei knew Sakuban afterall, but at the time he didn’t seem to know anything.

A. When Sakuban told Yoru that Yamada-sensei knew of this, he was not lying, Yamada-sensei did know that Sakuban would take him back eventually (as explained in the beginning of Chapter 5), however, when Yoru asked Yamada-sensei if he knew “where he was”, Yamada-sensei, at that time, didn’t know. If Yoru had brought up Sakuban or the other world, Yamada wouldn’t have understood.

Q. Why is Go so mean to Yoru?
A. He elaborates more on page 107. Another reason may be the insecuraties he felt from being an abused child. Some fans think that Go had a “crush” on Yoru since the beginning, but exerted his feelings by picking on him, making him seem like he hated Yoru instead. In any case, it apparent right away that Go does not actually hate Yoru, since he suddenly seems to change his mind, and asks Yoru to hang out.

Q. Why is Naito always “hot”.
A. He has high body temperature, which is explained later in the series. He is just opposite of Yoru, who has low body temperature. This is also the reason why he appears shirtless in mainy scenes.

Q. What was the order that the weapons were created?
A. Sakuban is the oldest, then Kareta and Saiteiru, then Destroyer, then Night Shot (Yoru and Naito).

Chapter Three-

Q. Why did Sakuban request that Yoru have his memories erased? Wouldn’t it have been easier in the future for him to have remembered?

A. Yes, but at the time, Sakuban was just thinking of Yoru restarting his life and never returning to their world. However, Father did not give up on finding the other half of Night Shot, so Sakuban predicted that he would be able to find Yoru in the human world, and the fact that he was living with Yamada (Sr)’s son would have been quickly figured out by Father.

Chapter Five-

Q. Why didn’t Destroyer’s eye heal?
A. Because the weapons that have the “healing” power can’t regrow such sensetive organs as eyes. They also cannot regrow their heart or brain.

Chapter Six-

Q.Why does Yoru suddenly get tired after he goes to the other dimension?
A. Traveling across dimensions really wears him out. He did not realize this the first time he did it in chapter 4, either, but he faintied in the rain and almost died from hypothermia. On pg 131, Kyou mentions that traveling across dimensions also wears Sakuban out, so it is assumed that it is a very tiring thing for anyone to do.
