Comments, anyone?

In kitsunequeen's comic (Pale*Glow) she put in her author comment on page 25 "Comments make me post more.". i totally agree with this statement.

Now, DAI actually gets plenty of comments, but it's Night Shot i wish people would pay a bit more attention, too. Yes, it is not Shounen-ai like DAI, but it is something of mine that i have been working hard on for a while now. I think it has a good plot and good characters.

Now, if i wasn't already uploading NS on Deviantart as well, i may actually update a little less considering there are only a few people that even comment. (don't get me wrong, i am very grateful for you, and you know who you are). I mean, NS is said to have over 100 fans, but how many of those people actually read it? I wish i had those statistics...

Also, no one ever seems to comment on people's news updates. why not? seriously, people, leaving a comment on a page, or reading someone's news is only going to take a minute or two out of your day, but to the person recieving the comment, it could really brighten up their day.

I'm not meaning to sound like a comment whore or anything, but since i have created DAI and compared it to NS, some concerns have been rising.

Why do comments make me want to update more? For one, it shows me people are reading, and enjoying, my work. Sometimes i get up in the morning and think to myself "i don't feel like working today" but then i get on and read the wonderful comments you guys leave me and i am suddenly empowered. i am doing it all for you, but i do need the support to carry on.

When I first started reading smackjeeves comics, (which wasn't too long ago) I really got a sense of community about the site but didn't really feel like part of it. I was shy about commenting on people's work especially because I know I don't have the talent and skill they do. Maybe alot of your fans feel like I did. Anyway I love both NS and Dai, (both fav'ed) but NS is my favorite. Just letting you know.

thank you for telling me that, you might be right. Please don't be shy, though, it's no big thing, really.
and i'm glad you like Night Shot best ^.^

Like Lum, I too am shy about leaving comments. I check both sites daily, sometimes multiple times, and am very disappointed when there is no update, elated when there is one. I love both your stories. They both have very intriguing story lines and the art is impeccable. One of the only reasons I even decided to check out Dai was because I like NS so much. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged ^_^.

I totally know how you feel, I have about 20 fans each for my currently on-going comments, and only have about three or four regulars that leave comments.

I like to comment when I have something to say, I mean that I don't like leaving comments for the heck of it, like one-liners. "Cool" or "Awesome" sometimes just feels like spam to me, so I comment when my brain decides to function properly. And sometimes I'm just too tired to really say anything, because I usually check up right after school and have to do my homework immediately afterwards.

I'm kind of more of a NS fan than a DAI fan, but I have both fave'd. : >

hmm. thanks guys, it's good to hear it. i am also a little concerned about old fans that would comment often, and nowadays they seem to have disappeared. i wonder if the lost interest in my story or something, which worries me.
anyway, i guess even if i only had a few commentors/fans, i would still update NS for you, anyway, because as long as somebody is reading it, i should be happy XD

I'm one of the one's who has it faved and reads it ^^ I always enjoy it when there is more than one page to look at because I can't wait for the next page. I'm not one of the regular posters but I do post occasionally. And part of the reason for that is I'm kinda shy when it comes to posting and I don't always have much to say.

hmm, i guess people can be really shy when it comes to this... i guess i understand now, thanks for the comment.

I just found this comic (it was a featured donator comic) and I was curious...I know all about the non-commenting thing (mine has 10 "fans" and one single solitary comment) I'm gonna read through your archives now =) (and comment, of course!)

i'm just to lazy to comment

I love both of your comics, but I like DAI better. (Because of the plot, NOT because it Shounen-ai.) I only comment if I see something wrong with the story or OOCness, but you are very good writer and I don’t think that you need to worry about it.
